It hit me today what a curious event it was when Obama hit the hundred day mark. Pundits on both sides agreed that the Barack we're seeing is not the same as the Barack that was promised. Conservatives have some reason to be thankful - the drawdown in Iraq isn't as bad as we thought it would be, and the One didn't back down from pirate attacks, or from Afghanistan. On the other hand, his "cure" for the economy's woes are more devastating to our beloved market economy than we imagined it would be. The left has shown some anger over the wars, though they have mostly much to celebrate. I wonder which Obama will unravel as the promises, words, speeches, and hopes burst against cold hard reality. And seriously.. someone put a muzzle on that Biden guy....

I have been remiss in drawing because of the SHOCK of having our first black socialist president. In any case, here is a political cartoon for your consideration. Comments are welcomed....

So I was innocently sending pithy and clever remarks on the Hugh Hewitt twitter feed yesterday (#hhrs for those interested), and I get the message that the guest host, Jim Gerahty is going to steal my line! Seconds later, he announces my witty commentary over the air. I blushed like a schoolgirl. We were discussing how some Conservatives are being vitriolic in their response to our soon-to-be new president, and that we should take the higher road, instead of traveling the oft-trod path of the bilious left. SO, I says to them, I says, "Yes, of course we have to reach across the aisle! How else can we get our hands around their necks!" It was yet another one of my brilliant lines that flow out of my bounteous imagination like a smoothly flowing metaphor. Not to be undone, I says to them, I says, "wow, a white man stealing from a mexican? what kind of topsy turvy world do we live in?!" and that got a few laughs. Finally, I demanded that they give me the proper credit, and Jim Gerahty was nice enough to even spell it with the double-o's for everyone. That's right, Soopermexican is going NATIONAL!! Watch out!
