Immigration Flashback

Photobucket
So I drew this a long time ago - 4 years to be more or less exact... it shows just how little progress has been made. Apparently our president wants to make immigration his next cause. As Michael Medved has said, this is the one issue that can really destroy the Republican party. I think he's right. If the Republicans push too hard, especially given a lot of the racial overtones (not completely fabricated by the left), they stand to alienate a lot of potential hispanic voters, who generally are socially conservative. On the other hand, immigration is a genuine domestic problem - the American public is fed up, and they are demanding something is done. Personally, I think the best answer is the one Reagan advanced during his presidency - one of real enforcement, but also some form of amnesty for the non-criminal aliens who are in America. This is a bitter pill for conservatives, and it's a compromise the leadership is going to have to sell to the base in a much better way than he tried to do the first time. Because if they don't, we're looking at a split between the moderate conservatives and the more extreme wing. As it stands, Mexicans are the opiate of the American economy....

A World Historical Bill

Photobucket

This comes inspired from my favorite conservative talk show host, Michael Medved... After the bill passed, he said on air that he knew some moron cartoonist would draw a cartoon of Obama signing the bill with the spirits of Kennedy, FDR, and other presidents who had tried and failed to pass healthcare, smiling down on him, with one giving him an "attaboy!" Hearing this, I was immediately inspired to draw a cartoon that would probably upset Mike just as much - he doesn't like conservatives calling the prez or his bill a communist or a socialist... but I just couldn't resist.. so I give you, the bill signing of communist dictator's past...

Healthcare Childrens Stories

Photobucket
Like many conservatives, I was very proud of the GOP's efforts at the HealthCare Summit. From all accounts, it was meant to be a trap, an ambush for the Republicans, and they used their most eloquent members to trounce the Democrats. The most telling part of the debate was that the Republicans came armed with logic, statistics, and reason, whereas the Democrats seemed to want to bury them in pathetic attempts to elicit sympathy through their sob stories. Clearly, the aim of their pathos was the public, and not the professed goal of the summit, which was to engage their political opponents in meaningful dialogue.
It struck me that the Democrats were treating the American public as if they were children - trying to persuade them through anecdotes and not through reasoned arguments.... thus this cartoon...

Universal Deathcare for Babies

I had computer issues, so this was from a while ago, but I don't think it's any less true. Ben Nelson's betrayal of the Pro-Life cause was all the more disgusting because the terms of the betrayal were so well known and publicized. A good friend of mine who works with Pro-Life causes says that if this Healthcare bill passes with the current language supporting government funding of abortions, the number of abortions in this country will increase by 130,000 per year (at the least - this is the most conservative estimate of the estimated increase). Further, it is known how much he sold out this unborn children for - the estimate here is $100 million for federal payment of the Medicare program in Nebraska. Simple math lets us know just how much Ben Nelson values each American child's life. $769.23 per innocent baby. Let us remember the claim of the Right that eventually we will be made to go in front of death panels which assign a value to our lives, and they'll approve or reject claims for healthcare based on their calculations of our worthiness to society. The left, including Barack Obama, have universally decried these claims as hysterical falsehoods. And yet, long before the healthcare plan even comes close to being approved, it has already stamped a cash value on each corpse of an American baby that is sacrificed to purchase Ben Nelson's vote. $769.23.

Obama's Best Written Speech

The inimitable Mark Steyn, author of the "America Alone", and Columnist to the World, writes a few sentences in the style l'Obama, for his article in National Review, which you can find here: http://bit.ly/6eWfjC .....

The Left's Literary Warriors

I just have an observation to make after reading Obama's latest encyclical let loose upon the imagination of the American public in regards to the panty-bomber. As a preamble, it doesn't take much to notice the bizarre order of events with his response - an attack on Americans wasn't enough for him to bother his vacation, and when he finally made his first speech on the issue he was painfully sensitive to call the wretched failed bomber an alleged criminal instead of an enemy combatant. When given enough time to research what the American people wanted to hear, and read his critics, more than a week later, he's able to perform an act of anger to fit what he has surmised would be the best received reaction.

Some have already observed the linguistic gymnastics he painfully tiptoes through in order to maintain his false image as the beloved dear leader of not just his American constituents, but the adopted constituents of the Earth, despite the evidence showing their disdain for his conciliatory antics. What strikes me is how idiotically literary his response to our terrorist attackers is. He has repeated a few times his unwavering intent to "disrupt, dismantle, and defeat their networks" once and for all.

What he doesn't mention is the essential element of DESTROYING our enemies. His goal is to render their networks useless - ostensibly doesnt this mean that our enemies will still exist, but they won't be able to... connect to each other via wi-fi? Is he going to shut down their twitter access like our good friends in Iran?

This highlights the main difference between conservatives and liberals. The left places their faith in their brains, in their intellect. The right places their faith in wisdom. As long as you have a PhD., the left will bow to you, and if you're the leftist president, you'll bow to anyone that has the slightest of imagined grievance against the US, because that's what PhD's have taught him is the answer to all aggression.

As Dennis Prager says, if your enemy tells you he's going to get up in the morning and murder you, then you get up earlier and kill him first. To add a hint of Christianity, you pray for his soul first before you kill him. This is especially true if his aim is not just to kill you, but to slaughter your family, and destroy your civilization.

The concomitant liberal aphorism would be, if your enemy says he's going to get up in the morning and murder you, you get up earlier, make him breakfast in bed, hug him, and stretch out your neck for his scimitar so that he knows you're not a racist or an imperialist. Let's see how far we get with that tactic....

It also reminds me of an article in Time magazine that was printed soon after 9-11. While we were all recoiling in horror at this awful attack, failing to find the words, the way to express how terribly this day was, Time magazine girded its frontal cortex with its intellect and sputtered out this article entitled, "The Banality of Bin Laden" (http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,188329,00.html). It was if our struggle against Islamic extremism could be analogized as a limp-wristed literary squabble between bespectacled English teachers.

Guess what, morons, they don't want to criticize your linguistic skills. Our enemies want to slit your throat, stone your wife, mutilate your daughter's genitals, and enslave your son. They want to destroy your civilization.

We should have known even back then that the left didnt take this seriously, that they didn't understand the seriousness of this struggle. The seeds of our current cowardly attitude toward this war were clear even back then. And these seeds have slowly come to their fruition in the person of Barack Obama.

I was reminded of this article recently when CNN had a very intelligent and eloquent guest reviving this sophisticated smug criticism of our mortal enemies. It flashed on the screen again, those idiotic words, "The Banality of Al-Qaeda." The left is still playing a little cerebral game with the Islamists. They're not even bringing a knife to a gunfight - they are bringing chess pieces to combat a suicide bomber.

So don't be surprised when Obama tries to fight suicide bombers with alliteration. "Disrupt, Dismantle and Defeat" of networks sounds so much more eloquent and clever than "Axis of Evil" or calling for the defeat of the "Evil-doers". Maybe Bush was a little awkward with his descriptions. However, given the option, I'll take clumsy and alive over educated and dead any day.

The choice is obvious

Quetzalcoatl has the foreign policy experience that Palin doesnt have yet, and he will bring the hispanic vote to the GOP. Also, he'll bring the heart-sacrificing-to-the-sungod vote, normally a Democrat stronghold....

Conservative Book List

I really need to shut down my AUDIBLE account - it allows you to purchase books on tape and upload them to your IPhone. This is terribly handy, but it a subscription service which means they got their hands in my pockets every month, so I need to download some books, and move on. I thought I would roll the wheel of Twitter, and see what recommendations for conservative books would pop out of it.. SO here they are!

More recommendations are welcome!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:
These are books I've already read, and thoroughly enjoyed. In my opinion, you have to read these in order to be informed about modern history that supports a conservative worldview, and what that worldview is. Some aren't even necessarily partisan in themselves...

America Alone - Mark Steyn: Great read forecasting the inevitable future based on demographics of birth rates in Europe and America. He's a great writer that makes you laugh while you read about the coming European catastrophe... (recommended also by @gregzimmerman, @sonof_liberty

Liberal Fascism - Jonah Goldberg: A great look at the early history of progressives and their philosophical and political ties to fascism.

The Looming Tower  - Wright : Historical account of the events leading up to 9/11 - chilling and incredibly informative.

The Nuclear Jihadist : Another historical account of how Pakistan got the nuclear bomb and the international community's failure to stop it, mostly because of a "failure of imagination."

Right Turns - Michael Medved: A great autobiography of Medved, one of the most intelligent radio talk show hosts in the country.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS:
Books I haven't read yet, but come from people I trust on twitter ( as much as that can be said!):

Ride the Thunder - Richard Botkin (via CCC6)

The Forgotten Man
- Amity Shlaes - A conservative account of the FDR years that argues against the popular notion that he saved America from the Great Depression through gov't spending. A salient book for modern times. (via @CCC6)

Arguing with Idiots - Glenn Beck (via @gregzimmerman)

While Europe Slept (via @gregzimmerman)

Londonistan (via @gregzimmerman)

The Last Jihad - Joel Rosenberg: Fictional account of future political calamaties with a Christian worldview. A series of novels (via @gregzimmerman, and  photog357)

Liberty and Tyranny
- Mark Levin (via @diggrbiii)

The Truth About Muhammed - Robert Spencer (via @gregzimmerman)

Why We Want to Kill You - Walid Shoebat (via @gregzimmerman)

Willful Blindness (via photog357)

Surrender Is Not an Option: Defending America at the United Nations- John Bolton (via photog357)

Inside the Revolution (via photog357)

Not Out of Africa - Mary Lefkovitz : as @gregzimmerman puts it, "Black studies teachers hate it. Debunks the whole Cleopatra was black thing and other myths."

The 5000 Year Leap  (via @sonof_liberty)

other CONSERVATIVE NOVELS
Vince Flynn, Daniel Silva, Brad Thor (via photog357)

RON PAUL nuttiness: I haven't read these. I don't like his 3rd party views, even though I think some of his ideas are good. I would encourage reading these less than the others, and please don't vote 3rd party! (via @starspangledGrl)
END the FED
REVOLUTION A MANIFESTO

This is all I have for now.. if you have any other suggestions, please leave a comment or tweet me at @soopermexican!
God bless!!

911

Right at the outset I want to make it clear that I am NOT saying Barack Obama is a terrorist. While his policies WILL eventually lead to many deaths of Americans, and their allies (and probably have already), I am not saying necessarily that he has the intention of destroying America in the same way as the 9-11 hijackers are. I would never say such a horrid thing. I would never insinuate that our president would kill innocent Americans for political gain - just as I would never sign a petition that would demand an investigation to uncover evidence of such. In fact, I'm not referring to 9-11 at all, but rather, mocking the pilot who dared to fly through manhattan and scare the hell out of everyone without official White House order. The two towers are in no way a reference to the World Trade Towers, but are in reference to some of the pillars of American society and political organization that our president is trying to destroy. With a plane. Perhaps the plane of a hijacked constitution, or a plane of usurped Executive authority. However, and I wanna make this clear, in no way am I trying to imply that Barack Hussein Obama is a terrorist that is trying to destroy America by including in his cabinet and Czardom the kind of people who have actively sought to destroy America in the past, and sworn Communist enemies of America. It is a mere coincidence that I draw a cartoon so similar to the twin towers on the day of 9-11. In fact, I draw this in support of Barack Hussein Obama's platform of subverting the free market and wresting control from the individual in favor of the state that knows better for everyone. I expect a check from the National Endowment of the Arts for my obedient call to propagandistic action on behalf of our half-black comrade in chief.
